Maths.scot is an ongoing project by Andrew Moulden, a Glasgow-based maths teacher, ex-PT and ex-headteacher, who now runs a tutoring centre
and is working towards an MSc in Computer Science.
Why create Maths.scot?
The original intention was just to support my own online tutoring during the first Covid lockdown, as outlined in this article
on the dotScot Registry website.
However, that limited goal has since expanded considerably. The aim is now for Maths.scot to be the simplest, clearest, fullest and most rigorous free maths resource for Scottish secondary students.
Device compatibility
Maths.scot uses a deliberately minimal design that displays neatly on all Apple or Android phones or tablets.
The website works correctly and is perfectly readable on larger screens, although the mobile-optimised layout may not fill wider displays. If this occurs, browser zoom will scale the page content to fit.
Copyright notice
All Maths.scot webpage content is strictly copyright. It may be used freely for educational purposes, including by private institutions, but the content or underlying code may not be replicated elsewhere.
Original Maths.scot PDF resources are published under a Creative Commons
"Attribution, Non-Commercial, No Derivatives" licence which permits non-commercial redistribution, electronically or on paper, free of charge. However, any edited versions may not be redistributed.
SQA and Qualifications Scotland material is copyright © Qualifications Scotland, reproduced by kind permission. Answers and solutions do not emanate from and are not approved by Qualifications Scotland.
All other hosted or linked content remains the copyright of its respective owners.
Privacy policy
Maths.scot does use cookies or collect any personal data. Our maths tutor search operates in partnership with Bark.com and your personal data is subject to their privacy policy
.
How Maths.scot is funded
Maths.scot exists to provide free access to quality maths resources for any student who is self-motivated enough to take advantage of them. All original content is, and will remain, completely free of charge.
The expenses associated with operating the website are offset by generous donations
and by various sponsorships and affiliations such as the Amazon Associates Programme, through which commissions are earned on qualifying purchases.
Care has been taken to ensure that all advertising on Maths.scot is as relevant and unobtrusive as possible.
A word of caution
Phone addiction and incessant social media notifications are harming the ability of many young people to concentrate and achieve. So when using this or any other digital resource to study, please ensure that you have no distractions of any kind. If you find that impossible, perhaps you shouldn't be using technology at all. Consider switching off, detoxing your brain and using a good old-fashioned textbook instead!
